hAppY BiRthDaY ~ HADLEY!

Today we celebrated Hadley's first year! Of course, as most of you can relate to...it seems like the year has flown by, but on the other hand it's truly hard to even remember what life was like without her! The entire day was just as good as it gets. We went to church this morning and had Hadley's baby dedication. Together, with our families, we dedicated Hadley to the Lord and committed to raising her in the ways of God to help her grow into a strong woman of faith. It was the best way possible to start the day! After church, we headed to our house to party! We grilled hamburgers & hot dogs, opened presents and of course there was CAKE! Hadley was very reserved and delicate with her cake. Unlike Eli on his first birthday {covered from head-to-toe in cake and icing}, little Hadley took her time exploring her cake, and stayed pretty clean! We had to even help her out with eating it because she was just so mellow and relaxed! It was cute! She got so many great presents and we all had fun hanging out together. It's days like this that I am reminded of what a huge blessing it is to be surrounded by such wonderful, Godly, loving family. Eli & Hadley are amazingly loved. Thank you so much to Mimi, Poppy, Aunt B, Uncle Lauro, Uncle Kyle, April, Grandma, Grandpa, and Cousins Joel, Alanna, & Kinzie for making this day so memorable. After everyone headed home, we relaxed at home and after dinner took a walk around the neighborhood with the kids and Ella. Eli & Hadley rode in the Radio Flyer wagon - they loved it. As we approached home, they were entertaining each other by making funny noises, sticking their tongues out and imitating one another. Their giggles are music to my ears. It was a great way to end the day. I spent extra time tonight tucking Hadley in; I couldn't stop staring at her. Waves of emotion came - everything from laughs to tears. When I think back a year ago today...it's hard not to get emotional. Her birth was joyous, but sad because we couldn't take our baby home with us. Although it was only a week that she stayed in the NICU, it was a long week. I continue to thank God for healing her body and for comforting us during that time. She is such a precious gift from the Lord!

Enjoy these pics that take us back over the past year...

So beautiful

Where did all her hair go?! :)

Getting big...

Having fun

Loving the water

Two of Hadley's trademarks are in this picture: 1) Those big, beautiful, blue eyes! 2) The hair that won't do anything but stick straight up in the air!

"Hmm...I'm not so sure about this cake"

I love you Hadley! Thank you for bringing so much joy to my life and love to my heart! Happy Birthday!!
