You know how you have those moments when you think, "Wow. I'm a parent!" - and the responsibility and importance of it really sinks in? The fact that God has entrusted you with this precious little life is so amazing. Well, today was one of those moments, when Kasey and I were so blessed by Eli. We realized that even though there are times when we "mess up", we are really doing a good job as parents. I was out yesterday afternoon, so Kasey was home with the kids. Eli was at the kitchen table coloring and Kasey asked, "What are you doing, Eli?". To which he replied, "Drawing Jesus dying on the Cross". WOW. It really confirmed in our hearts that what we do NOW - even from the day they are born - truly lies the foundation for the rest of his & Hadley's lives! Here's his artwork. This is one that I will keep forever. :'-)

I started crying when I read what you wrote and looked at Eli's drawing. He is such a special young man, with special parents. God truly has his hand on your family, in more ways than you know. Love you all so much. Thank you for sharing your joy, Ash.
